Alexandra (Alyx) Valdal B.A, CHS, CFP
Many of us read about how to save money, pay off debt and get ahead in life, but few people take action without guidance and support. That's why Apple a Day financial was started. Alyx saw a need for financial education in Victoria and teaches workshops, seminars and holds informal educational coffee chats.
As a Certified Financial Planner, Alyx accepts new clients looking for financial guidance and can also offer support with obtaining life and health insurance.
Alyx has been the secretary of the Vancouver Island chapter of Advocis – the financial Advisors Association of Canada – and is a member of the Financial Planner Standards Council. She has also served on the board of directors for Wear2Start and volunteers in elementary classrooms with BC’s Junior Achievement’s Dollars with Sense program for children’s financial literacy. Alyx was nominated for a 2013 Victoria Leadership award and is a member of the Oak Bay Rotary Club.
After graduating from Ottawa’s Carleton University, Alyx lived in England and Japan before returning to beautiful Victoria.
Alyx, her husband, and two young children enjoy exploring their neighbourhood water park, Willows beach, and Fireman’s Park. Alyx plays Ultimate Frisbee all year long and lawn bowls in the summer.
